"I also use another symbol; water. In a small pool on the plaza,
partly surrounded by the copper plate, water will be turbulent and provocative,
constantly agitated into standing waves. In the other pool, located among
trees in the courtyard and between two massive outcroppings, water will
be calm, reflective, contemplative," Sanborn refers to the bubbling
pool's symbology of information being disseminated with an unknown destination.
Within moments of installing the calm pool, several ducks flew in and made
themselves a home. Even now, a decade and a half later, the water
is teaming with a variety of fish, lily pads, and birds.
